To simplify processes, reduce administrative burden and better serve its customers, in 2025 CHOB will update its administrative and renewal process for Web Hosting and domain plans, maintaining the focus on fair pricing and avoiding fixed-term promotional techniques, which lead to unexpected costs.
This is reflected in the following changes for your Customers:

- If you have a hosting plan from our catalog, the new plans will be updated automatically 30 days before renewal, and the first renewal will have to be done manually, by subscribing to our online service;
- Online contracting implies automatic renewal by the client, which implies additional control to the client regarding the contracted service;
- If the customer chooses to manually renew the service, a cost of €10* will be added to cover the cost of the entire administrative process;
- The renewal of a hosting service for 2 years or more implies a discount of 10% per year, being safeguarded from any updates that may take place in the year 2026;
- Failure to renew the contract implies loss of access to the service, and CHOB will ensure that a backup copy is available to the customer, upon request, during the first 30 days after the expiration date.
If you have contracted a custom plan, the prices/conditions remain unchanged, however the renewal conditions remain the same.
Domains
An administrative effort throughout 2024 allowed CHOB to maintain the current prices of most domains with the most common endings (.pt, .com, .net).
However, some specific endings may be subject to updates only if the price charged is below the respective cost. To avoid the current constant price updates by the competent authorities, CHOB suggests renewing domains for multiple years.
It is CHOB's opinion that domains should be treated as an essential digital service, not a commodity.
Maintenance Plans
(and Hour Packs)
To minimize the time between plan and action for both, CHOB encourages its customers to pre-load their accounts, benefiting from a 20% discount in relation to the list price.
This approach aims not only to alleviate CHOB's administrative burden in the Budgeting, Monitoring and Invoicing processes for the client, but also dramatically speeds up the availability to start work, which would often take longer in the initial process than in the execution of the work.
By loading (minimum 1h) of work, you are also guaranteeing a fixed price, as the contracted hour pack is immune to CHOB's price changes.
It is standard for CHOB not to deduct any needs assessment processes from the pack. It is also standard for times to be charged in 15-minute increments.
Updated Terms of Service
For new customers, and customers coming from the partnership with bitOK whose contract has not been updated, a contract will be sent along with a renewal notification. A copy of the same file will be available in your account management panel.
Automatic Payments
CHOB would like to assure its customers that all information regarding payment information is secure and largely unavailable to bad actors, and that not even CHOB has access to the respective information. Such information is handled by the Stripe entity, and CHOB is in the process of concluding a partnership with SIBS, the entity that manages the MB Way and Multibanco network.
Both entities hold the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) certification and only pass a small token encrypted authorization at the time of payment, a process similar to the contactless payment used worldwide.
Service Quality Assessment
Finally, as part of CHOB's commitment to offering a quality service, we invite our Clients to evaluate their service (even if anonymously) on their Google Professional profile, which publicly expresses their satisfaction with the level of quality of the service we offer, while at the same time publicly demonstrating CHOB's fulfillment of its commitment to you.

The CHOB team dedicates a portion of its time to research, testing and updating services for more efficient and performant infrastructures, even if this means sacrificing personal time, opting to try to reduce its costs before increasing its prices, without compromising the quality of the service.

Not much flour, my porridge first
A significant pain point in our current process is the heavy administrative overhead. Every step, from invoicing to reminders, is done manually, using time that could be better spent on strengthening security, developing platforms such as new sub-stores, and Callebaut and Bakery to Keylink, or even obtaining Authorized Registrar status at dns.pt to offer better prices on .pt domains.
While it maintains a personal touch, such an approach is unsustainable as we evolve, so the 2025 changes aim to automate and streamline these processes, allowing us to focus on the core work of development and service improvement, without compromising our commitment to fair and transparent pricing.
